Managing your collection of Die-namics can be daunting if you don’t have a system in place -- especially when the sets include multiple, often small, pieces. Today the My Favorite Things Design team is sharing their solutions for keeping their Die-namics collection in check!
The storage bin I used for my dies is the same one I used for my clear stamps (<=Link to Stamp Storage post), the InterDesign Double Fridge Binz:
The dividers I use here are the same kind I use for my stamp and stencil bins. They are white plastic and came from another type of stamp storage system I purchased several years ago. Unfortunately, they are no longer being made and I haven't been able to find them even on the secondary market or close-out stores. :( Alternately, you could cut down plastic report covers/pocket folders from any office supply store -- that's what I plan on doing when I need more!
These are my Die Categories:
3D, Alphas-Numbers-Words, Animals, Backgrounds-Cover Plates, Banners, Blueprints, Borders-Edges, Centerpieces & Transformables, Circles, Doilies, Flowers, Frames-Labels, Holidays-Seasons, Laina Lamb, Nature-Fruit, Ovals, Rectangles, Squares, Shapes-Other, STAX-Tags-Flags
I use the same Large and Small Storage Pockets from My Favorite Things that I use for my stamps. Here's a close-up view of the Small Storage Pockets with Die-namics in them. These pockets measure 5" square:
The Large Storage Pockets are able to hold just about any die set, as they measure a generous 7-1/2" x 5-3/4":
Die sets for which I do not have the retail package get labeled with my Label Maker. For any die sets that do not come with a magnetic storage sheet (I LOVE this feature about most of MFT's dies!), I cut up magnetic vent covers and use them. They are the most economical magnetic solution I've been able to find:
My die bin is housed in my IKEA Expedit/Kallax shelves (it fits perfectly!), next to my Big Shot, where I can easily pull it out and work with them:
Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog, to find a list of all the MFT designers participating in today's blog hop AND find all the details on how you could possibly win today's prize package:
Check back again tomorrow for another day of organization!
I am always in search of organizational idea. You never know what clever idea someone new will have.

Sharon, can you share a picture of your whole shelving unit and desk. I'm planning on purchasing one this summer, and would like an idea of how to arrange it.
Great job of organizing!

This has been a very educational blog hop in storage solutions. It has helped so much. You can get the vent cover at Home DePot for way less than on Amazon, just saying. Thanks for sharing.

This is a wonderful series. It's nice if you can swing it and have all of these drawers and sleeves matching. I started years ago with cassette cases for all my unmounted stamps. I saved my drawers from our old fridge and they are storage drawers.......so I got the ideas!!!! Mine is just eclectic!

this is truly fabulous...the vent cover idea is amazing and I love that you can cut an appropriate size piece dependent on how many die pieces there are - looks very not wasteful and so slim line with the pockets that don't take up a ton of room. I am just in love! TY! and a great prize too!
