Tonight I'm focusing on MFT's fun new Small Brick Background stamp and Window Die-namics ... (all bold products are linked below in the supply section)!
My first project is an 8-inch scrap page of a gorgeous lunch spot at the Hana Hotel in Maui, Hawaii, where my husband and I spent our honeymoon. This photo hasn't had a good permanent home for a while, so I wanted to scrap it before it got lost in another move!
I stamped the Small Brick Background with Versamark onto this month's pretty new After Midnight cardstock -- it was a perfect compliment to the beautiful blues of the ocean! I intentionally partially inked the top right corner and lower left corners of the page, so the bricks would fade out. That's one thing I love about MFT's larger 5-3/4-inch background stamp size! And this pattern pieces together with little effort.
This brick pattern may not be the usual pattern you might pair with a tropical setting, but I was imagining the brick was the side of the restaurant wall, right under the open window where we were having lunch with this amazing view! I love the subtle texture achieved by stamping the background with Versamark ink:
The bottom of the photo is anchored by a strip of Ripe Raspberry cardstock stamped with the damask Washi Pattern and Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, along with a Banana Split Blueprints 23 scallop. Lisa Johnson's pretty new Scribbles Die-namics were cut from Sweet Tooth cardstock and scattered around the corners of the photo.
The center negatives of the white die cut Scribbles were colored with Copic Y13 marker and also scattered around the page. The Maui title was cut with Laina Lamb's Emmitt Alphabet, from Ripe Raspberry cardstock.
My next project also uses the Small Brick Background along with the fun new Window Die-namics (you know I LOVE window cards!) and Pure Innocence's Woof You stamp set:
The Small Brick Background was stamped with Versamark ink onto the rough side of watercolor paper (to give the bricks more texture) and white heat embossed. Then I used a wide waterbrush to paint a wash of Brick Red Premium Dye Ink Refill over the background. I love the variations in the brick color!
Next, I used the Window die to cut through the brick wall panel and also through my Sno Cone card base. The window frame and sill were cut from watercolor paper (more great texture!) and the edges "aged" with Copic C1 marker.
Sweet little Woof You PI girl was stamped with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink onto her coordinating Die-namics cut from Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers (colors listed below in the supply section). She was popped up on Copic X-Press It Foam Tape on the card front. The brick wall was also popped up on foam tape over the Sno Cone card base, to give it more realistic dimension.
PI's sweet little puppy was colored and adhered inside the card, on another die cut "window sill" and the sentiment added with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.
