Hello, and welcome to the Spring 2015 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop ... I’ll be showcasing some of the new stamp sets and dies In my post today!
I also get to give away this gorgeous new floral stamp set, called Bohemian Garden to a lucky someone!
Please leave a comment here on this blog post to enter my giveaway.
The fun begins in the CLASSroom, where there is also a Grand Giveaway! To enter, be sure to leave a comment there, and at every stop along the hop by May 5th! Winners will be announced May 8th.
Here's an 8-inch scrapbook page of my youngest daughter that I made with the Bohemian Garden stamp set, along with the very cool Be-YOU-Tiful die, Amazing Women stamp set and Mondo Magnolia stamp set and coordinating Mondo Magnolia die (all bold products are linked below in the supply section):
(Click on any photo for a larger view)
1. I started this page by gold and silver heat embossing the pretty Bohemian Garden flowers onto an 8-inch piece of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. These stamps stamp so VERY nicely and the outline size is perfect for either embossing or coloring and the variety of flowers in the set is wonderful!
2. Next, I die cut the Be-YOU-Tiful die from Bazzill Card Shoppe Red Hots cardstock and again from Ellen's Metallic Gold Leaf cardstock. I cut out the gold "YOU" word and adhered it off-center onto the red die cut word. The word was mounted with rolled-up mini glue dots to the page base.
3. The gorgeous Mondo Magnolia was stamped fully once with Memento Toffee Crunch ink onto Bazzill Butter Mints cardstock. Then the Magnolia was selectively stamped again, omitting the center of the flower. Both flowers were die cut with their coordinating Mondo Magnolia die and shaded with Copic E41 marker.
4. The pretty Daughter, Friend, and Sister words from the new Amazing Women stamp set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink in the center of the smaller flower. The flowers were layered together with Copic X-Press It Foam Tape.
My next project is a tri-fold graduation/congratulations card created with the beautiful Bohemian Garden flowers:
The card measures 5.50" x 3.75". The front flowers were stamped on the card front (Neenah Solar White), allowing for the die cut sentiment (on the left tri-fold side), then hand trimmed around so the sentiment on the right tri-fold side of the card shows through to the front of the card. Here's how the card looks partially opened:
Here are the dimensions and instructions on how to create the tri-fold:
And here's a close-up of the pretty scalloped card front, trimmed around the flowers and leaves:
The flowers were stamped with Memento Rose Bud ink and then loosely colored with Copic RV52 and RV55 markers. The leaves were stamped with Ranger Electric Lime dye ink and colored with Copic YG01. The flowers and leaves were given a little dimension by outlining them with Copic C1. Finally, the flowers were glistened with Clear Wink of Stella!
The Congrats word is from the previously-released Essentials by Ellen Zipper Panel die, which has another great graduation-worthy word I debated on using: Celebrate! It was die cut from Neenah Solar White cardstock twice and layered together for dimension, then ombre colored with the same Copic markers used for the flowers.
