Make Your Own Happy!

Hello, Crafters! Were you as excited as I was to see this week's new Essentials by Ellen release of the Hinged Alphabet and Hinged Numbers sets?!! These sets are in the same style of the previously-released Hinged Thanks and were such a huge hit, with many requests for an entire alphabet ... that Julie and the Ellen Hutson team were happy to comply! I was so "happy" (ha!), I had to make this card with the new Hinged Alphabet:

For easy placement of the individual Hinged Alphabet dies, I used my Tim Holtz Ruler. Start at the center -0- point of the ruler with the center letter of the phrase you are creating, then add the letters on each side of the center:

The fun background was created using the dot stamp from Essentials by Ellen Wonky Backdrops. I inked the dots with Distress Oxide Inks (4 colors on the stamp at once), spritzed the stamp and the paper with water, then stamped, letting the colors run together a bit:

Different colors of watercolor paper that were created with Distress Oxide Inks were placed behind the Hinged Alphabet letters. The bear and heart from Essentials by Ellen All Inside were also stamped onto Distress Oxide Ink watercolor paper, die cut with their coordinating All Inside dies, and popped up on X-Press It Foam Tape Squares. The heart was glittered with Clear Wink of Stella marker:
