When I first saw this set I knew I wanted to color this sweet hummer: Isn't he beautiful?!! I stamped him on watercolor paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored him with these Copic markers: For the background, I used Copic BG0000 Various Ink Refill to "watercolor" the sky, using a water reservoir brush filled with Copic Blender Solution while the paper was still in the die, so I would be left with a white edge around... Advent Calendar Tags 2013

With the holidays quickly approaching, I'm trying to finish my 2013 Advent calendar as soon as possible and this week's Mix It Up Monday challenge over at StampTV helped a lot, as I'm hosting! You can read all about the challenge and the PRIZE here and these are the tags I created for it: The challenge is simple -- Monochromatic Stamping! Just choose one color of ink to stamp with, and one color of cardstock to do it on, some stamps, and you are off and running (your project does not have to be a tag)! Today’s featured stamp set are the Cheers mini set I showed you a sneak peek of yesterday, and Fleece Navibaa by Debbie Corbari: I thought these adorable sheep would be the perfect opportunity to try out Gina's new White Pigment ink: Oh.My.Goodness. This is absolutely the BEST white ink I've ever used! Look at the beautiful detail and opaqueness on Black Onyx cardstock ... I'm in love! I scattered rhinestones in the "sky" for stars, aong with a few punched white cardstock stars, and tried to make it look like the large sheep (free hand cut) is counting sheep to get to sleep! These beautiful holiday stamps were the perfect opportunity to add to my 2013 Advent tags, so here they are! (Click on any photo for a larger view. His ornament was cut out, glittered, and popped up on foam tape. With both of these great holiday sets, I decided this year’s installment of Advent tags were in order! I decided to keep the tags monochromatic -- I love the look of red and ivory for the holidays! Advent Calendar 2012 Finished!

Hello, Friends! Finally, I finished my 2012 Advent Calendar and wanted to share the whole thing with you! Here are the 2nd to last set of tags (yes, two are still not finished and I promise I'll share those next week): (Click on photos for a larger view) Tag 12 - I used Gina K Designs Lots of Letters by Melanie Muenchinger to make this Game Nite tag out of faux Scrabble tiles ... such a fun set! I stamped the tile squares and letters with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto Gina’s Ivory Layering Weight Cardstock and added the numbers with Copic Chocolate Atyou Spica Glitter Pen. Then I punched them out with a 3/4-inch square punch and popped up with Copic foam tape on the Sandy Beach cardstock tag. I used my Scor-Buddy to score a "game board" on the background. The star center is also from the Lots of Letters stamp set, stamped in Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink. Everything was adhered to an Ocean Mist tag.
