Update & Giveaways!!

I'd like to thank you all for your concern and all your wonderful comments, prayers, kind emails and beautiful cards -- they are appreciated more than you know! Big {{hugs}} to everyone!! I had a great report from my doctor today -- he was extremely pleased at my progress and 180-degree turnaround! All the swelling is gone and I'm walking normally again! Doc said I can be up and walking around as my leg permits. We just have to check my blood levels on the Coumadin and hopefully by the time most of you read this on Wednesday, I should have that report back. If it's good, then I get to stop the blood thinner injections (hopefully)! So starting tomorrow (Wed, Feb 6), I'd like to go ahead with my 1-year blog anniversary giveaways (and over 275,000 visits from you wonderful, crazy crafters!) for the next SEVEN days! Update

I mentioned in this post that I found out on Saturday night at the ER I have a superficial blood clot in my lower leg, but after following up with my internal doctor yesterday, we discovered there was a deep vein thrombosis underneath the superficial thrombosis. Unfortunately the deep vein clots are the more serious kind of thrombosis, which can possibly travel elsewhere and cause all sorts of life threatening problems. But since it's in the smaller veins of the lower leg, they say it's a little bit less of a concern but serious and very painful, nonetheless. Thank goodness these types of things can be treated from home these days -- it's always nicer to sleep in your own bed (vs. a germ-infested hospital!) and not upset the lives of your families/little ones too much, isn't it? Bedrest is in order for me for the next several days, so I'll be postponing my blog anniversary giveaways for a while, until such time my doctor allows me to be up and about. Sweet Friends

On Tuesday my sweet friends, Lori & Jenn, sent me this beautiful bouquet of get-well flowers . . . isn't it gorgeous? The eucalyptus branches are bent into the shape of a heart! Thanks again for your wonderful friendships and for thinking of me girls . . . these really did cheer me up on a very bad pain day! I'm still here!

Just wanted to let you all know you may not hear from me again until about Wednesday. I'm busy doing some stamping for the Thomas Kinkade release on Wednesday (if all goes as planned!) and doing some other things I can't quite share with you yet. Photoshop 6 Help?

If anyone has experience in Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 . . . I'm having trouble getting my old watermarks created in my older version of Photoshop CS2 to remain transparent in the new program. New Banner!

I tried making a new blog banner with a digital scrapbooking kit (all by myself!) . . . how do you like? I still need to resize it a bit, but overall, I'm very pleased. Those templates make it really easy and fun . . . I can see quite a few changes coming throughout the year, as I usually tire of the same thing after a while! Hopefully I'll be back later (it may be VERY late tonight!) with some teacher gifts I haven't even started on and tomorrow is the last day of school for us -- ugh, never enough time! . . . I was tagged again by my sweet friend and fellow Texan, Beverly Gerard (aka TexasGrammy) . . . ! I first met sweet Tex in February 2005 at a shoebox swap. When she sat down to make the card I brought, she started raving about it and we were instant friends, LOL! Bev is the kindest woman I know and has an amazing family, full of wonderful children and beautiful grandchildren! I'm constantly inspired by her work . . . check it out at her blog linked above. I'm supposed to list 7 random and/or weird things about myself, so here goes: 1. I'll be celebrating one year of blogging the end of January, so watch for some bountiful giveaways! 2. When people ask what my favorite color is, I used to always say blue, but I don't decorate with it and rarely papercraft with it . . . what's up with that? LOL! I do love looking at any beautiful blue body of water though -- that's so relaxing to me. You're Gonna Love Me!

You know those great clear top tins everyone is trying to either keep in stock or get their hands on to alter? I found some in one of the oddest places last week . . . OfficeMax! The bonus is, you get some usable office supplies along with them, all for .99 cents each! My store had these tins in two sizes . . . the one on the left is 2.5" in diameter and the one on the right is 3.5". Another bonus . . . they are magnetized on the back, so you can stick them up on a metal board, if you'd like! I'll try to be back soon with a little project using these . . . until then, happy shopping! . . . did you know he now has a blog? And, of course, it's quite cool, just like him. Check it out: Tim Holtz Blog. Scroll down a few posts and you'll see his studio space -- Wow, very vintage (which I love)! It's very nice to see a man's perspective on how to organize and store crafting products -- some really neat ideas! I had the privilege of meeting him about a year ago at a class I took at my local stamp store: It was the most fun I've ever had at a class and was SO informative on how he designs his products!
