JustRite Stampers 2012 CHA Winter Release 5!

Today’s JustRite Stampers Winter CHA stamp set release is this red rubber cling set, Warm & Cozy Medallion Labels: I’ve been on a scrapbooking fling lately, since we had family photos made last month, so here’s an 8-inch family page (click on photos for a larger view): (Photo credit: Susan Karlsson from Five Days Later Studio) I thought one of the wonderful quotes from this set would be the perfect accent to a family page, it reads: “Home is such a happy place where love is shared together” -- love that! I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some solid paper from Basic Grey’s Little Black Dress 6x6 paper pad and then die cut it with JustRite’s new custom Nested Medallion Label dies, manufactured by Spellbinders. The quote was placed in the center of the largest pretty medallion, stamped onto gray paper and also die cut with the custom coordinating die. The photo is accented with peach paper from the same collection -- it accents the peachy tones in the photo that I printed with a cool colorized Photoshop action I love. Winter/Spring Copic Certification Classes

Before I get on to some Copic business, I wanted to share a little of our winter wonderland here in Texas. We rarely get snow so when we do, it's a big deal. Yesterday we broke our 46-year record snowfall (a whopping 7.8 inches, LOL!) here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and had 12.5 inches! So meet 2010 Snowman Joe: The snow was still coming down yesterday after school and my girls couldn't wait to get out in it to build a snowman (their first)! Since we don't have much experience at building snowmen, we made do with what we had . . . Oreo cookie eyes and cherry tomato mouth!! Then I realized we hadn't provided any arms for Joe, so we improvised again: Ha -- that's my youngest crouched down behind Joe, holding out her arms! So, on to some Copic announcements. New Family Addition

Meet the newest member of our family . . . Harley Maximus: Birthdate: 7.6.08 (7 wks); Weight: 7 Lbs; Height: 10" What you can't see in this photo (buried in the grass) are his huge paws . . . he'll be growing into them, as he's a Great Dane! And yes, we've had one before and know what to expect from them. They think they are lap dogs, will sit on the sofa just like a human and crawl up into bed with you when you are sound asleep! When taller (at about 1 year), they can drink from the kitchen or bathroom sink and also make a snack out of anything you might happen to leave out on the kitchen counter! But they are the friendliest buckets of love you'll ever find and amazingly, very gentle with children. Watch out for their bark -- most of the time, it's worse than their bite! The girls had been begging for a dog for a while and seriously, who could resist that face? A friend told me I had no backbone at all, LOL! Fall Pics & Booooooo!!!

I've been meaning to share a few fall photos of the family with you all. Here are some we took a few weeks ago at the pumpkin patch. My youngest, who is 5 -- I think she's determined to be a model, she always poses so sweetly for me! And my oldest who turns 8 this weekend: And yes we were all in short sleeves after spending the day at the State Fair -- it got up to 90 that day and then promptly dropped into the 50's the next day! That's Fall in Texas -- the trees are so shocked by the sudden change in temperature that they don't get the chance to change, the leaves just fall off in shock, LOL! (just kidding). Here's my favorite photo of the girls on a ride at the fair: Love that action shot! Here's the jack-o-lantern we carved this week: Hubby did a great job, don't you think? The girls told him what they wanted and he went after it! Of course, the pumpkin had to get "bunny ears"! Texas Bluebonnets!

Ahhh, the Texas bluebonnets (our state flower) are in full bloom right now and we got some good photos this weekend. We happened to find a nice field here in town with no cluttering buildings, cars or freeways in the background, believe it or not! It's just not spring until we get our annual bluebonnet pictures and last year it wasn't wet enough for them to grow, so I've missed them! Above is our oldest daughter, Alix (7). But along with the beautiful flowers, of course, come bees and ants. Sooooo, after my youngest (Alyssa, 4-1/2) saw the first bee, it was very difficult to get her to look at the camera! Then there was the ant crawling up her leg . . . needless to say, I barely got the photo below of both of them, let alone one of her by herself! I snapped that one and they declared the photo session was OVER . . . so this was the best I got! Please share below what your favorite ritual of Spring is.
