MFT August Release Countdown-Day 6

Welcome to countdown day 6 of My Favorite Things August Release! The new products will be available at 10pm EST on August 12! For today's project, I created an 8-inch scrap page using three new August products being featured today: Geek is Chic Glasses Die-namics, Geek is Chic stamp set and Eye Charts stamp set! Also, the Small Checkerboard Stencil being featured on Monday. All such fun! My oldest daughter absolutely loves her glasses and has no urge to get contacts. They are her favorite green color, which matches her beautiful green eyes! She is a self-proclaimed science and computer geek, has geckos for pets and never liked frilly girl stuff. So when I saw these new stamp sets and dies, I knew they would make a perfect scrap page for her! MFT July Creative Challenge-Pattern Perfection: Stripes

Classic patterns never go out of style and thanks to the plethora of designs My Favorite Things offers, your projects will never feel dated. Join the MFT designers as we inspire you this month with trendy and innovative projects centered on the pinnacle of patterns: the time-honored stripe! I created a striped patterned paper and a few other striped accents for this 8-inch scrap page: To create the striped paper, I mixed MFT's All Lined Up Stencil with one of my favorite and current trendy techniques, watercolor! More details on that are shown below. To soften the Banana Split Sun Ray Cover-up die cut a little, I covered it in another die cut from Translucent Vellum. The "sister" title was cut with By the Letters Lowercase Die-namics, from Cork Sheet (which is actually lighter than it's appearing here in my photos): (Above) -- the "SEA" word was cut with the Bottom Line Alpha, from custom blue watercolored paper (details below), then stacked on three more layers of Grout Gray cardstock die cuts = your own custom "chipboard" letters! For My Love ...

I totally missed this 8-inch scrapbook page of mine making an appearance over on the Copic blog this week (on Valentine's Day)! It's a love page of my oldest daughter. I hope you'll join me there, to see how I used Copic products on almost every single piece of this page! I forgot to mention in the post about the paint chip being the inspiration for the page -- I loved all the shades of pink (her favorite color!) and the paint color names associated with them: pink chintz, springtime bloom, fuchsia kiss & hot pink . . . all very girly, springy and reminded me of love and her! At The Beach ...

I sure wish I were at the beach right about now ... how about you -- a little warm up in frigid February?!! I decided to take myself back to this beach we visited on vacation in 2010 . . . the gorgeous Baths in Virgin Gorda! Those little people in the top photo are my girls and those giant rocks are huge granite bolders! Here's an 8-inch scrap page to commemorate our family trip: JustRite's new cling set At the Beach Oval Medallion Labels stamp set is being formally introduced today, after making its debut at the Craft & Hobby show last month: I used Myriad Pro 50-pt. font for my page title, stamped in Hero Arts' Snow Hero Hues chalk ink. All of JustRite's font sets are on clearance -- just $5 or $10 for a full set! You'll need the Clear Horizontal Stamper or Clear Mini Sentiment Stamper blocks to use them, as they are the tonge and groove JustRite Original stamps that require a special block to use them. JustRite Stampers 2012 CHA Winter Release 5!

Today’s JustRite Stampers Winter CHA stamp set release is this red rubber cling set, Warm & Cozy Medallion Labels: I’ve been on a scrapbooking fling lately, since we had family photos made last month, so here’s an 8-inch family page (click on photos for a larger view): (Photo credit: Susan Karlsson from Five Days Later Studio) I thought one of the wonderful quotes from this set would be the perfect accent to a family page, it reads: “Home is such a happy place where love is shared together” -- love that! I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some solid paper from Basic Grey’s Little Black Dress 6x6 paper pad and then die cut it with JustRite’s new custom Nested Medallion Label dies, manufactured by Spellbinders. The quote was placed in the center of the largest pretty medallion, stamped onto gray paper and also die cut with the custom coordinating die. The photo is accented with peach paper from the same collection -- it accents the peachy tones in the photo that I printed with a cool colorized Photoshop action I love.
