WSC96: Unity Friends With Flair!

Another Friday and another Weekend Sketch Challenge from Beate! This week Unity Stamp Company is doing a little blog hop I'm participating in. I combined two Unity stamp sets -- I thought this sweet bird went well with Cosmo Cricket's bird paper from the Earth Love mini deck. I machine stitched the "ground" lines on the bird paper and around each of the other distressed papers. Beautiful sentiment -- I love it! It's accented with Zva crystals and the bird is colored with Copic YR00 & YR01 markers. Card is 5" square. Just For Fun: Neighborhood of Simplicity

Some sweet stamping friends of mine, Alli, Carole, Julie, Michele and Lori, invited me to play along in their Just For Fun monthly challenge they do. This month Lori chose this sweet Neighborhood of Simplicity stamp by Unity and Michele chose the cute paper by My Mind's Eye (Bloom & Grow-Eye Candy). Those are the only parameters -- use this stamp and paper and make something . . . lots of fun! Thanks for letting me play along this month, girls -- I totally enjoyed it!! The neighborhood was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with these Copic markers: This image was so much fun to color! It's matted with SU's Taken with Teal cardstock. I punched the edges of the patterned paper with Fiskar's Threading Water punch and matted it with Stampin' Up's Ruby cardstock. Papertrey Ink's Paper Tray sentiment, Hero Arts flower & button on a 5" square card. I used this week's CPS #108 for the layout. Unity Meets Webster's Via CPS!

At CHA last month, I finally had the chance to meet most of the Unity Stamp Company team and thanks to their kind generosity, came home with a few of their darling stamp sets that I'd been wanting to try. I chose to use this sweet bird from the Hey Chick! set and combined it with some of my favorite Webster's Pages paper. This week's CPS#102 made it all happen (I flipped the sketch just a little)! I stamped the bird, using Unity's fabulous & unique acrylic/wood mounting system, with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto Neenah Classic Natural White cardstock and colored her with Copic markers BG13, R39 & YG95, to match colors in the patterned papers. Clear Copic Spica glitter pen highlights all the red coloring on the bird. I loved the feel of the wood handle on Unity's acrylic block! I made a frame with the Cuttlebug Concentric Hearts die, placed it over my colored bird and machine stitched the two layers together. A sparkly blue button accents this focal piece.
