Workdesk Wednesday

It's been a while since I shared What's on my Workdesk Wednesday, so here's today's: I had been working on some new Copic color selections to add to JustRite's collections and am happy to announce they are ready to be shared! You can find the new color chart to download from JustRite's site HERE, and you can find the new collections HERE and singles HERE. I also have the chart available for download on my Copic FAQ & Color Chart page of my blog. The new colors/collections include: 4 new Trio collections: Hydrangea Trio, Raspberry Trio, Moss Trio, Tahiti Trio 2 new Quad collections: Ivory Quad and Neutral Gray Quad 2 new singles (RV17 and E23) added to 2 Trios, making them Quads: Latte Quad and Red Violet Quad For a total of: 22 new singles, 4 of which are the new 2011 Sketch colors: RV63, RV66, YG61 and E23 Enjoy! Copic Updates-Workdesk Wednesday

I have a few Copic updates for you today . . . and here's what's on my Workdesk Wednesday! First -- I'm very excited to finally have these in my studio ... the new 2011 Copic Sketch colors and Marianne Walker's (Copic's Product Specialist) Shadows & Shading - A Beginner's Guide to Lighting Placement: I can't wait to play with those new colors! If you haven't been able to find them yet, I know Ellen has received her second shipment of them -- you can find them in her store HERE. A lot of you have asked how and when you could get Marianne's Guide. They are in stock at the Copic warehouse and your local Copic retailer can order them for you, or I know Ellen also currently has a supply of them HERE. Some of the material in this book is covered in the Intermediate Copic Certification class, so I can't wait to read it and refresh my memory! Workdesk Wednesday - Copics!

Here's what's on my workdesk today: (Copic storage units are from Studio 3 Solutions) I've been doing my annual coloring of a new Copic color chart, getting ready for when those pretty, new 12 Sketch colors arrive (they have begun shipping to retailers!), so I can add those color swatches to my chart! In case you missed it, I have updated my downloadable Copic color chart with the 12 new Sketch colors -- you can find it on my Copic FAQ, Color Charts &Tutorials page of my blog. Coloring a new chart each year accomplishes two things -- It makes sure I test each of my markers to see if they need refilling AND ensures I have an accurate color chart. Since Copic ink is dye based (in an alcohol solution), the colors *can* fad over time, especially when exposed to a lot of light. Plus, since Copic has added new colors the last two years, I've needed an updated chart each year! Workdesk Wednesday

You all cracked me up with all of your comments on my first Workdesk Wednesday blog post! Yes, my desk is usually messier than that first photo, but remember -- I had just done a MAJOR cleanup! Here it is today, back to it's usual in-the-middle-of-working-on-too-many-projects-at-once mode: (Copic storage towers can be found at Studio 3 Solutions) I knew it wouldn't stay that clean for very long -- I still have some remnants left over from last week's projects! Those images in the middle are some Lockhart stamped images on Copic X-Press It Blending Card that I started coloring for my February calendar (yep, back to running late on that, too!). This is as far as I got Monday evening when I decided I needed to run some errands yesterday morning after taking my kiddos to school. We had an Arctic cold front hit North Texas overnight (wind chills are below zero!), and I wanted to get what errands I needed run and stock up on some groceries before the possibility of being snowed & iced in again for a few days. Work Desk Wednesday & Giveaway Winner!

While recently doing a bit of *rare* blog surfing, I came across this different "challenge" of sorts: "What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday". It's just as the name dipicts -- share a photo of what's on your work desk! So I thought I might play along occasionally, if that's something you all might be interested in seeing? Let me know in the comment section of this post, OR if you think this kind of blog post should get the gong (do you remember that game show?!!), then let me know that, too, and I won't do it any more, okay?!! So here's what was on my work desk early this morning -- my 3rd grader's school project to make a potato into their favorite storybook character! Ha! She chose Horton from Dr. Suess's Horton Hears A Who! We found a photo on the Internet of Horton and printed it out (thank goodness we guessed correctly at the size)! She colored Horton with some Copic markers (C1 & N4) and then cut him out.
